PULSE MUSIC THERAPY LLC

“Rewiring the brain, one beat at a time.”

Where Music Meets Neurologic Healing

At Pulse Music Therapy LLC, we believe music isn’t just something we hear—it’s something we’re wired for. From the rhythm of our heartbeat to the patterns in our speech, music is deeply rooted in our biology. That’s why we use it intentionally to help the brain recover, adapt, and thrive.

Our mission is to provide individualized, evidence-based care for people affected by stroke, brain injury, Parkinson’s, and other neurologic conditions—bringing science and sound together to support real, measurable change.

What is Music Therapy?

Participation in music activates nearly all regions of the brain which can help maintain brain pathways and networks involved in well-being, learning, cognition, motor function, quality of life, and happiness.

Music therapy is a clinical, evidence-based practice in which trained professionals use music interventions to help individuals achieve specific therapeutic goals. These goals can relate to physical, emotional, cognitive, communication, or social needs.

Music therapy is provided by board-certified music therapists (MT-BCs) who assess a client’s strengths and challenges, then design personalized music-based strategies—such as singing, instrument playing, movement to music, or guided listening—to support healing, development, or rehabilitation.

In Neurologic Music Therapy (NMT) specifically, interventions are grounded in neuroscience and focus on areas such as motor function, speech and language, cognition, and sensory processing, often used in recovery from stroke, brain injury, Parkinson’s disease, and more.

Meet Taylor…

Taylor Rung Meehan, LPMT, NMT is the founder, director, and lead music therapist at Pulse Music Therapy LLC. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of Akron and completed her post-baccalaureate training in music therapy at Cleveland State University. With over eight years of experience in neurologic rehabilitation, Taylor brings both clinical expertise and personal passion to her work.

Taylor completed the International Neurologic Music Therapy Training Institute in 2023 and is a Neurologic Music Therapy (NMT) affiliate. She has presented at regional and national conferences on the use of music-based interventions for both motor and speech rehabilitation.

Taylor’s path to music therapy began in 2010, after her father was diagnosed with Multiple System Atrophy (MSA), a rare and progressive neurodegenerative disease. That experience sparked a deep interest in how music could support individuals living with chronic neurologic conditions.

Known for her holistic, client-centered approach, Taylor specializes in working with adults living with acquired neurological conditions such as stroke, traumatic brain injury, and Parkinson’s disease. In founding Pulse Music Therapy (2023), she envisioned a practice where music and neuroscience come together to serve individuals and families throughout the greater Cleveland and Akron communities.
